Fashion
Starting today, the creative corridors of Doha’s M7 transform into a canvas for Threads of Impact, a landmark exhibition that marks the seventh anniversary of Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA).
Curated by Omoyemi Akerele, founder and CEO of Lagos Fashion Week, the exhibition brings together over eighty designers, including FTA winners, finalists, and special guest collaborators from partner countries. Each creator contributes to a dialogue that bridges heritage with the future, an exploration of identity, sustainability, and artistic form.
Organised around distinct thematic pillars, Threads of Impact unveils the diverse landscape of Arab fashion. Urban Contemporary redefines the intersection between streetwear and couture, Conscious Constructs celebrates sustainability as both philosophy and practice; and Sculpted Forms reveals fashion as a discipline of structure and storytelling. Each theme underscores the evolution of design as a reflection of community and culture, weaving narratives that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.
When will it take place?
Running from October 27, 2025, to January 3, 2026, this showcase stands as a testament to the trust’s pivotal role in shaping the modern narrative of fashion across the Middle East and North Africa.
Which brands are participating?
Among the talents spotlighted are Andrea Wazen, Bazza Alzouman, Mohamed Benchellal, Kazna Asker, Mukhi Sisters, Sabry Marouf, Yasmin Mansour, and Salim Azzam, visionaries who have reimagined what Arab craftsmanship can look like on the global stage. Through their work, tradition is not preserved but translated, into silhouettes that carry emotion, materials that speak of place, and designs that embody a region’s collective memory.
Part of Qatar Creates’ Evolution Nation, a year-and-a-half-long campaign celebrating fifty years of the nation’s cultural evolution, Threads of Impact also aligns with the Years of Culture program, a platform dedicated to fostering artistic exchange between nations. In parallel, M7 will host Houbara Haven: A Chaumet Tiara, a celebration of Moroccan hair traditions, further cementing Doha’s standing as a global epicenter for creative dialogue.
In Threads of Impact, fashion transcends ornamentation, becoming an act of identity, empowerment, and exchange. As the region’s most visionary designers converge under one roof, FTA’s legacy continues to evolve, one thread, one story, one impact at a time.
What began as an initiative to empower emerging talent has now evolved into a cultural movement, one that positions the Arab world as a key voice in the global design conversation.
