The speed limits will be lowered by 20 km/h in both cases
Abu Dhabi road users are going to have to slow down on two of the capital’s major roads as there are new speed limits being implemented.
In a move aimed at enhancing road safety and curbing traffic accidents, Abu Dhabi Mobility has announced new speed limits for two major highways, effective 14 April.
The speed limit on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road (E11) will be reduced from 160 km/h to 140 km/h. Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi–Sweihan Road (E20) will see its limit lowered from 120 km/h to 100 km/h.
This adjustment is part of the emirate’s ongoing efforts to promote safer driving conditions across its road network.
Authorities are urging all motorists to comply with the updated speed limits and to exercise caution while driving, in order to protect the user experience of all road users.
