Emerging during the transatlantic slave trade, Black dandyism became an act of resistance—reclaiming identity and dignity through European-inspired fashion.
The accompanying dress code, “Tailored for You,” invites guests to reinterpret menswear with personal flair. This marks one of the few times the Met Gala has centered menswear, promising a red carpet filled with structured silhouettes, bold suiting, and avant-garde tailoring.
